Founder/Creative Director/Musician

Vanessa Grillo made her debut in the Australian entertainment scene at the age of 17. She made her mark as a vocalist and keyboardist while performing with some of Australia’s most well-known tribute and wedding bands.

Vanessa discovered her passion for performing at an early age and made it her goal to learn everything she could about the music and entertainment industry. Graduating highschool with a Certificate IV in Music Performance, Technical Production, Theatre Studies and Drama, Vanessa went on to complete her Bachelor in Music and Music Business at Victoria University all while beginning her career as a full-time live and studio session musician.

Vanessa has now become one of Melbourne’s most sought-after performers, gracing audiences and stages across the country. With her captivating stage presence and incredibly versatile which is showcased through her ability to cover all genres of music. She has performed alongside numerous bands, dj’s and some of Melbourne’s most well-known musicians at exclusive venues for corporate events, weddings, launches private parties and public shows.

Vanessa’s reputation as an energetic, vocal powerhouse had spread quickly and along with it, a growing demand for her dynamic performances. So, she decided to put all those years of study into something she could call her own and thus, the creation of Strawberry Jam. Not only was this company to be used as a platform for herself, but also the array of talented musicians she has worked with over the years and joined the Strawberry Jam Family.

JAMIE CANNING

Assistant Creative Director/ Production Manager/Musician

Growing up, Jamie Canning always shows interest in music. He began taking guitar lessons and the early age of … and showed an invested interest in all thing music

In 2009, Jamie found himself being a fulltime member in an original Australian touring band all while being a full-time high school student. He graduated with an Academic DUX in 2012 for music and decided to further advance his knowledge of music by enrolling in the Bachelor of Music at Victoria university. This provided him with the opportunity to develop take on the roll as a multi-instrumentalist. During this time, Jamie discovered a passion and talent for producing and engineering music and offered his services to original bands across Melbourne.

In his final year, Jamie met Vanessa who had just started Strawberry Jam and was in need of a guitarist. Vanessa hired Jamie on multiple occasions not only as a musician but for his engineering services to mix and master audio for the original Strawberry Jam promotional videos. Jamie eventually became a full-time member and a crucial part of the company’s development.
Since then, Jamie has become a multi instrumental teacher at Caroline Springs School Of Music and  is now in his 3rd and final year studying his Masters of Teaching to inspire the next generation of talented musicians during their high school years.
